Twitter for Pictures

On the back of Twittergram , the service to send voice / audio messages over Twitter, Dave Winer is at it again. Developing more useful Twitter mashups that is.

This time his creation is called "Twitter for Pictures ". Fred Wilson at A VC is calling it Twickr . It is a mashup of Twitter and Flickr where you can send a picture to Flickr and then it automatically updates your twitter subscribers. Pretty cool.

UPDATE - Here is the actual Flickr to Twitter page , it is only in limited trial so you will need to ask Dave for a chance to try it.

Keep track of your car mileage with twitter

This is a neat tool that was brought to our attention by Shadowscope . Basically it is a service that you can enter your mileage when you fill up your car, then the service does all the mileage and calculations that you could want.

The cool thing about it is that you don't have to wait till you get home on the web, you can enter the details via twitter, right at the pump. Very cool!

Send GReader articles to Twitter with Google Reader + Twitter

From Lifehacker.com :

"Firefox with Greasemonkey: Greasemonkey userscript Google Reader + Twitter allows for two-click sharing of GReader articles with Twitter. Google Reader + Twitter adds a "Share with Twitter" button to the Google Reader footer that displays a popup where you can customize the title, tag, URL, and note before submitting the article to Twitter. See every link posted in Twitter - Digg style

Twitigg is a new site that takes all of the articles, links and videos posted in Twitter and then reposts them to a website so you can view them. The idea is that it counts the number of times that each article is posted in the twittersphere.  Then you can see how popular each story / link is by the number of people submitting it.

When we first looked at Twitigg, we were put off by a couple of things.
- We couldn't vote on the stories.
- There is a lot of bad data. Maybe not bad data per-se but it looks like the Twitigg site can not handle some international character sets so there is a lot of funky symbols all over the site.
- The design is terrible.  The site itself looks like a standard installation of the Pligg content management software.

Twitigg is a great idea if they can iron out the bugs, get the data cleaned, get UTF 8 and pretty things up a bit. But how will it stand up in the real world until then?

Brabblr - combine Twitter, Jaiku, Frazr and others, all from one place

Thanks to Kristen Nicole on Mashable for the sneak peak into Brabblr's private beta. She writes..

.."With this meta tool, you can add updates to all of your Twitter-like blogs. Brabblr supports Twitter, Jaiku, Frazr, Wamadu and Textln. Brabblr works in the same manner as Twitter and the rest, and gives you the option of receiving updates from your friends or recent updates from the entire community. Each update indicates where it came from, which lets me know that Brabblr should be importing updates from the other sites it connects to, but this feature seems to show that all updates are coming via Brabblr instead of their respective sites." ..
