Further clarification of twittown direction
Over the last week we have been clarifying the vision of twittown a little further. We want to facilitate and build a community that has both social networking users and social networking developers together in one environment. We feel both groups can learn from each other. Developers can get useful insights from users about building and improving their applications and users can suggest and give ideas to make social networking applications better. Not that users and developers have to be always talking to each other but the opportunity should be there as needed. However, with the full realization that both audiences will have separate needs for content.
We will aim to foster user generated content, blogs and member conversations in this direction. Also, it is important to point out that we are going to cover across all social networking platforms (facebook, myspace, hi5, bebo, orkut, friendster etc.) and also mobile platforms (like iphone, android, symbian, blackberry etc.)
We have several ideas and plans that will make the site useful to both groups of people and will reveal more over the coming months as we get things built.
We have made a start on re-organizing the forums section of the site. We are going to group into two main groups to start: 1. App, widget and social networking END USERS and 2. App, widget and social networking DEVELOPERS. Under that, you will see the relevant sub-forums. If there is a category missing let us know in the "tell the twittown staff" forum http://www.twittown.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29 and we will add it.
We are going to wait and see what you, the community want to talk about and then shape the forum hierarchy as we go along and as relevant.
If you don't have an account for the forums, just sign up from the home page http://twittown.com , your twittown account can be used for the entire site including forums.

Changes at Twittown
First of all sorry for the very long radio silence. We have seen a lot happen in the world of twitter and also social networking over the past year. According to traffic reports, the info on Twittown is still very useful to many of you. We are in the planning stages of revamping Twittown to provide an even better information source for not only twitter and twitter applications but for a wider range of applications and widgets for social networking sites / platforms such as facebook, myspace, hi5, orkut, friendster etc. and also mobile phone platforms such as iphone and android.
As plans develop you will see changes happen on the site itself and also in the blogs, which will be more frequent in the very near future.
Welcome back and we look forward to building and extending a useful community for everybody interested in social networking and mobile widgets and applications for both users and developers.
If you would like to make a suggestion for content or features that you would like to see, let us know in the comments, we would love to hear your ideas!
